Day #007 – Figure Drawing Proportions Back View

One week down, fifty-one left to go and it’s so far, so good.

Today I’ve completed the third of my figure sketches referenced from the Andrew Loomis book I linked to a few days ago.

Even with the sections as guides if you make your figure too wide it goes out of whack. Clearly this guy is a bit too wide which makes his legs look stumpy. Not a huge deal though and overall I think it looks okay. There are less landmarks to go from where drawing from the back and the ones you do have don’t fall so neatly on the ‘head unit’ divisions.

Not sure what I’ll work on tomorrow but I might stay with figure drawing and go through the female proportions from the next page of the same book. Will see.
